🥔 Creamy Spring Onion Potato Gratin

Ingredients
- 800 g Waxy potatoes
- 8 Stück Spring onions
- 200 ml Heavy cream (30% fat)
- 80 g Gouda cheese, grated
- 20 g Butter
- 1 Prise Nutmeg, ground
- 1 TL Salt
- 0.5 TL Black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat.
- 2. Peel the potatoes and slice them very thinly (approx. 2-3 mm thick).
- 3. Wash the spring onions, slice them into fine rings, and separate the white parts from the green parts.
- 4. Cut the butter into cubes and use it to grease a baking dish.
- 5. Mix the cream with salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- 6. Place a layer of potato slices in the dish, sprinkle with a portion of the white onion rings.
- 7. Repeat the layers until the potatoes and onions are used up. Ensure the top layer consists of potatoes.
- 8. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- 9. Sprinkle the top of the gratin with the grated cheese.
- 10. Bake the gratin for 45 to 55 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the surface is bubbling and golden brown.
- 11. Add the green onion rings only after baking.
- 12. Let the gratin rest for 5 minutes before serving.
