🥕 Creamy Root Vegetable Gratin with Thyme

Ingredients
- 300 g Carrots
- 300 g Parsnips
- 2 große Onions
- 300 ml Heavy Cream (min. 30% fat)
- 100 g Emmental Cheese (grated)
- 1 Bund Thyme (fresh)
- 30 g Butter
- 1 Prise Nutmeg
- 1 TL Salt
- 1/2 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (convection).
- 2. Wash the carrots and parsnips, peel them, and slice them thinly (about 3 mm thick).
- 3. Finely chop the onions and sauté them in butter in a pan until translucent.
- 4. Stir the cream, nutmeg, salt, and pepper into the onions. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 5. Layer the vegetable slices into a greased baking dish. Pour the onion cream mixture over them.
- 6. Sprinkle the grated cheese and thyme leaves over the gratin.
- 7. Bake the gratin for 40 minutes in the oven until the vegetables are tender and the surface is golden brown.
