  1. 1. Place the gelatine leaves in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for 5 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat the cream, buttermilk, and sugar in a pot over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
  3. 3. Remove the pot from the heat. Gently squeeze the soaked gelatine and stir it into the warm milk mixture until it dissolves.
  4. 4. Stir in the vanilla extract. Distribute the liquid evenly into 4 small molds or glasses.
  5. 5. Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until the panna cotta is firm.
  6. 6. Combine the berries and sugar for the syrup in a small pot. Heat over medium heat until the berries are soft and a juice forms (approx. 5 minutes).
  7. 7. Unmold the panna cotta onto plates and pour the cold berry syrup over it.
