🥔 Creamy Mustard Potato Gratin with Thyme

Ingredients
- 1000 g Potatoes (waxy)
- 500 ml Heavy cream (30% fat)
- 150 g Gouda cheese (grated)
- 2 EL Mustard (medium hot)
- 1 Bund Thyme (fresh)
- 20 g Butter (for greasing)
- 1 TL Salt
- 0.5 TL Pepper (black, ground)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking dish (approx. 20x30 cm) with the butter.
- 2. Peel the potatoes and slice them into very thin rounds (approx. 2-3 mm thick).
- 3. In a large bowl, mix the cream, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- 4. Place a layer of potato slices in the baking dish. Repeat until all potatoes are used. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the top.
- 5. Sprinkle the top layer with the grated cheese and thyme leaves.
- 6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- 7. Remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes until the surface is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
