  1. 1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot for the pasta. Add the salt and cook the penne al dente.
  2. 2. Finely chop the garlic cloves. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. 3. Fry the garlic in the pan for 1 minute until aromatic. Add the halved cherry tomatoes and chili flakes.
  4. 4. Let the tomatoes simmer for 3 minutes until soft. Stir in the cream and let it bubble gently for 2 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the drained pasta to the pan. Stir in the Parmesan until melted. Season with pepper if needed.
  6. 6. Chop the basil and mix it with the pasta. Serve immediately on four plates.
