🦆 Creamy Duck Gratin with Chestnuts

Ingredients
- 4 Stück Duck legs or confit duck leg
- 800 g Potatoes (waxy)
- 200 g Canned chestnuts
- 250 ml Cream (min. 30% fat)
- 2 Stück Onions
- 3 Zehen Garlic
- 4 Zweige Thyme (fresh)
- 30 g Butter
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Prise Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
- 2. Grate the onions and mince the garlic finely and sauté them in butter until translucent.
- 3. Slice the potatoes into very thin rounds (approx. 2 mm).
- 4. Remove the skin from the duck pieces and cut the meat into bite-sized cubes.
- 5. Mix the potato slices, duck meat, chestnuts, onion-garlic mixture, cream, salt, pepper, and thyme in a large bowl.
- 6. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- 7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 40 minutes.
- 8. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the surface is golden brown.
- 9. Let the gratin rest for 10 minutes before serving.
