🍗 Coq au Vin Chicken Bowl with Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
- 600 g Chicken Thighs (boneless)
- 200 ml Dry Red Wine
- 100 ml Chicken Broth
- 200 g Mushrooms
- 100 g Bacon Strips
- 1 Stk Onion
- 2 Zehen Garlic
- 500 g Potatoes (waxy)
- 50 g Butter
- 50 ml Milk
- 1 EL Tomato Paste
- 1 Stk Bouquet Garni (herb bundle)
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Prise Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender (approx. 15-20 min).
- 2. Place the boiled potatoes in a pot and add the butter and warm milk.
- 3. Mash the potatoes into a smooth puree and season with salt and pepper.
- 4. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- 5. Cut the mushrooms into quarters and finely chop the onion and garlic.
- 6. Fry the bacon in a large pan until crispy and remove it from the pan.
- 7. Fry the chicken in the same fat until golden brown and remove it.
- 8. Saute the onion and garlic in the fond, add the tomato paste and stir for 1 minute.
- 9. Return the chicken, bacon, mushrooms, wine, broth, and herb bundle to the pan.
- 10. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 20 minutes until it thickens.
- 11. Remove the herb bundle from the sauce.
- 12. Place the mashed potatoes in the bowls and spoon the Coq au Vin sauce over it.
- 13. Serve the dish warm.
