🍽️ Grandma's Creamy Semolina Pudding

Ingredients
- 800 ml milk
- 80 g fine semolina
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 25 g butter
Instructions
- 1. Pour the milk, sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt into a large pot.
- 2. Heat the mixture on the stove until it starts to boil.
- 3. Stir the mixture with a whisk while you slowly pour in the wheat semolina.
- 4. Let the mixture come to a boil again for a short moment.
- 5. Remove the pot from the heat and place a lid on it.
- 6. Let the semolina rest for five minutes.
- 7. During this time, separate the egg yolk from the egg white.
- 8. Whip the egg white with a whisk until it forms stiff peaks.
- 9. Stir the egg yolk into the warm semolina pudding.
- 10. Add the butter and keep stirring until it has completely melted.
- 11. Gently fold the egg whites into the finished pudding at the end.
- 12. Serve the pudding with homemade compote, a cinnamon-sugar mix, or brown butter.
