🍽️ Pears in Red Wine Sauce with Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients
- 2 pear(s) (not too soft)
- a little lemon juice
- 200 ml red wine
- 0.5 cinnamon stick(s) (or cinnamon powder)
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 scoop(s) vanilla ice cream
- optional mint (and whipped cream for decoration)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the pears.
- 2. Cut the pears in half.
- 3. Remove the core area from the pear halves.
- 4. Immediately dab the pear pieces with lemon juice.
- 5. Put the red wine, cinnamon stick, and sugar into a pot.
- 6. Bring the mixture in the pot to a gentle simmer.
- 7. Place the pear halves into the warm liquid.
- 8. Cook the pears for 5 to 10 minutes.
- 9. Remove the soft pears from the pot.
- 10. Let the pears cool down.
- 11. Continue to reduce the remaining liquid in the pot.
- 12. Cook the sauce until it becomes syrupy.
- 13. Scoop the vanilla ice cream onto the plates.
- 14. Place the cooled pear halves on or next to the ice cream.
- 15. Pour the warm red wine sauce over the pears.
- 16. Garnish the dish with whipped cream if desired.
- 17. Add fresh mint leaves as decoration.
