🍝 Pantry Spaghetti Carbonara with Ham

Ingredients
- 150 g ham cubes (or bacon cubes)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 200 g spaghetti
- 3 egg yolks
- 0.5 cup cream (approx. 100 ml)
- 50 g parmesan, freshly grated
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1. Heat some oil in a frying pan.
- 2. Fry the ham cubes in the hot oil until they are well browned.
- 3. Cook the spaghetti in a separate pot with salted water.
- 4. Follow the cooking time listed on the package instructions.
- 5. Whisk the egg yolk in a bowl with the cream.
- 6. Stir the grated Parmesan into the egg mixture.
- 7. Season the sauce with salt and a generous amount of freshly ground pepper.
- 8. Drain the cooked spaghetti, but leave them slightly moist.
- 9. Place the hot pasta directly back into the warm cooking pot.
- 10. Place the pot on a turned-off stove burner.
- 11. Pour the egg sauce immediately over the pasta.
- 12. Fold in the crispy ham cubes.
- 13. Stir everything vigorously until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
- 14. Stop stirring as soon as the sauce thickens to prevent it from scrambling.
- 15. Taste the finished dish and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
