🍽️ Butter Cookies: Cut Out and Decorate

Ingredients
- 500 g flour (Type 405)
- 200 g sugar (optional powdered sugar)
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 350 g butter (cold)
- 2 egg yolks (size M)
- 1 egg (size M)
- some organic lemon zest (grated)
- 1 pinch(es) salt
- some egg yolk (for brushing)
- some flour (for rolling)
Instructions
- 1. Put the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Sprinkle the sugar and the vanilla sugar over it.
- 3. Press a well into the center of the dry ingredients.
- 4. Place the butter cubes on the edge of the well.
- 5. Add the egg yolk and the egg into the well.
- 6. Add the lemon zest and a pinch of salt.
- 7. Knead everything quickly with the dough hook or your hands until you have a smooth dough.
- 8. Place the dough in a covered bowl in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- 9. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- 10. Cut out shapes, for example stars or hearts.
- 11. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 12. Brush the cookies with egg yolk.
- 13. Decorate the cookies as you like.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 15. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes.
