🍽️ Bacon-Wrapped Beans with Herb Aroma

Ingredients
- 800 g beans, green (fresh)
- 1 bunch thyme
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp oil
- 8 slice(s) bacon
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the green beans under running water.
- 2. Trim the hard ends off the beans.
- 3. Heat some oil in a pot.
- 4. Add the bean herb, garlic, crushed peppercorns, and salt to the hot oil.
- 5. Sauté the spices and herbs briefly.
- 6. Pour 2 liters of water into the pot.
- 7. Let the broth simmer for 10 minutes.
- 8. Strain the liquid through a sieve.
- 9. Bring the strained broth back to a boil.
- 10. Cook the beans in three separate batches in the boiling broth.
- 11. Keep the heat at a medium level.
- 12. Remove the cooked beans from the broth immediately.
- 13. Plunge the beans into a bowl of cold water.
- 14. This stops the cooking process of the beans.
- 15. Dry the beans carefully with a kitchen towel.
- 16. Take a piece of bacon.
- 17. Wrap one dried bean in the bacon.
- 18. Repeat this for all the beans.
- 19. Heat butter in a baking dish.
- 20. Place the bacon-wrapped beans into the dish.
- 21. Make sure the bacon seam is facing downwards.
- 22. Preheat the oven to 180 to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 23. Place the dish in the hot oven.
- 24. Use top and bottom heat.
- 25. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
- 26. Warm the beans in the oven for about 5 minutes.
- 27. Turn the beans once halfway through the cooking time.
- 28. Remove the dish from the oven.
- 29. Serve the beans as a side dish for festive meals.
- 30. You can also enjoy them as a main course with small potatoes.
