  3. 3. Let the mixture stand until the yeast has completely dissolved.
  4. 4. Add the yeast sugar and the salt.
  5. 5. Melt the butter in a pot.
  6. 6. Add the milk to the melted butter.
  7. 7. Pour the lukewarm butter and milk mixture onto the flour.
  8. 8. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  9. 9. Cover the dough.
  10. 10. Let the dough rise in a warm place for at least one hour.
  11. 11. Wait until the dough has doubled in size.
  12. 12. Then knead the dough briefly again.
  13. 13. Divide the dough into three or four strands.
  14. 14. Braid the strands together into a plait.
  15. 15. Brush the surface with beaten egg.
  16. 16. Sprinkle the plait with pearl sugar or sliced almonds as desired.
