  1. 1. Place the minced meat in a large bowl.
  2. 2. Soak the bread roll in water until soft.
  3. 3. Finely chop the onion.
  4. 4. Add the onion to the meat along with the egg.
  5. 5. Squeeze the bread roll well.
  6. 6. Tear the bread roll into small pieces.
  7. 7. Add the bread pieces to the meat as well.
  8. 8. Knead everything thoroughly until you have a moldable dough.
  9. 9. Season the mixture generously.
  10. 10. Place plastic wrap on your work surface.
  11. 11. Press the dough into a rectangle about 30 x 20 cm and 1 cm thick.
  12. 12. Cut the olives into thin strips.
  13. 13. Cut the tomatoes into thin strips.
  14. 14. Chop the garlic.
  15. 15. Cut the mozzarella into small cubes.
  16. 16. Mix these ingredients well.
  17. 17. Spread the filling evenly over the meat dough.
  18. 18. Leave a border of about 2 cm free.
  19. 19. Carefully roll up the meat dough using the plastic wrap.
  20. 20. Place the roll on a baking sheet.
  21. 21. Make sure the dough does not tear.
  22. 22. Round off the ends of the roll slightly.
  23. 23. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  24. 24. Wrap the ham around the meatloaf.
  25. 25. Ensure that it is completely covered.
  26. 26. Bake the meatloaf for about 30 to 40 minutes.
  27. 27. Remove the meatloaf from the baking sheet using a spatula.
  28. 28. Place it on a serving plate.
  29. 29. Serve it while still hot.
  30. 30. Fresh ciabatta bread or risotto goes well with it.
