  2. 2. Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Bring the butter and milk to a boil and pour the hot mixture into the egg-sugar mixture. Gently fold in the flour and baking powder. Spread the batter evenly on the baking sheet. Cut the apples into wedges and place them on the batter.
  3. 3. Bake the cake on the middle rack for 25 to 30 minutes.
  4. 4. Sprinkle the cooled cake with cinnamon sugar or almonds.
