  1. 1. Wash the zucchini and slice it lengthwise into paper-thin slices. Use a mandoline or a bread slicing machine for best results, or a sharp kitchen knife. The thinner the slices, the easier it will be to roll them later.
  2. 2. Peel the garlic and chop it very finely.
  3. 3. Cut each slice of ham lengthwise into two narrow strips.
  4. 4. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the tomato paste, the chopped garlic, and your spices.
  5. 5. Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each zucchini slice.
  6. 6. Place the halved ham strips onto the cream cheese-coated zucchini slices.
  7. 7. Sprinkle some grated cheese over the ham.
  8. 8. Roll up the zucchini slices tightly and press them slightly so they hold their shape.
  9. 9. Moisten the tip of a wooden toothpick with water and insert it through the roll to secure it. The water prevents the toothpick from burning in the hot appliance.
  10. 10. Place the zucchini rolls into the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not too close together so that the hot air can circulate well.
  11. 11. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese over the rolls.
  12. 12. Lightly spray the rolls with cooking spray or oil.
  13. 13. Preheat the air fryer to 190 °C and cook the rolls for 10 to 12 minutes, until they are soft and lightly browned.
  14. 14. Check the progress briefly after half the time (about 5-6 minutes), as the exact time may vary depending on the appliance.
