  1. 1. Whisk an egg with sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl until creamy using a whisk.
  2. 2. Add oil and quark (curd cheese) to the egg mixture and stir briefly.
  3. 3. If desired, add some baking aroma and mix it in.
  4. 4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  5. 5. Stir the flour mixture into the quark mass briefly until a uniform, slightly sticky dough forms.
  6. 6. Form six balls from the dough using two tablespoons.
  7. 7. Place the balls with some space between them on a tray lined with baking paper.
  8. 8. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 160 °C.
  9. 9. Place the balls in the air fryer and bake them for approx. 8 minutes.
  10. 10. Carefully turn the balls and bake them for another 8 minutes until golden brown.
  11. 11. Meanwhile, melt some butter in a small pot.
  12. 12. Mix sugar and cinnamon powder in a small bowl.
  13. 13. Brush the still warm quark balls with the melted butter.
  14. 14. Roll the buttered balls immediately in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
