🍽️ Crispy Quark Balls from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 25 g sugar
- 1 pkg. vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 125 g low-fat quark
- 0.25 bottle butter-vanilla aroma (or lemon aroma, to taste)
- 125 g wheat flour Type 405 (or spelt flour Type 630)
- 7 g baking powder
- 1 pinch(es) salt
- some butter, liquid
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- 1. Whisk an egg with sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl until creamy using a whisk.
- 2. Add oil and quark (curd cheese) to the egg mixture and stir briefly.
- 3. If desired, add some baking aroma and mix it in.
- 4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- 5. Stir the flour mixture into the quark mass briefly until a uniform, slightly sticky dough forms.
- 6. Form six balls from the dough using two tablespoons.
- 7. Place the balls with some space between them on a tray lined with baking paper.
- 8. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 160 °C.
- 9. Place the balls in the air fryer and bake them for approx. 8 minutes.
- 10. Carefully turn the balls and bake them for another 8 minutes until golden brown.
- 11. Meanwhile, melt some butter in a small pot.
- 12. Mix sugar and cinnamon powder in a small bowl.
- 13. Brush the still warm quark balls with the melted butter.
- 14. Roll the buttered balls immediately in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
