  1. 1. Tip: Serve this dish best with cooked rice as a side.
  2. 2. For hygiene reasons, use a separate cutting board for the chicken meat. Cut the vegetables first, then the chorizo, and finally the meat.
  3. 3. Wash the peppers, remove the core, and cut them into even strips.
  4. 4. Peel the onion and cut it into strips as well.
  5. 5. Chop the garlic only roughly so that it does not burn during cooking.
  6. 6. Cut the chicken meat into evenly sized cubes.
  7. 7. Slice the chorizo into thin rounds.
  8. 8. Prepare the cooked rice now if you plan to serve it as a side dish.
  9. 9. Preheat the air fryer to 190 °C.
  10. 10. Place the chorizo slices alone directly in the basket and cook them for 5 minutes until they are lightly browned and have released fat.
  11. 11. The released fat will give the vegetables and chicken a great aroma later.
  12. 12. Put the chicken, peppers, onion, and garlic into a large bowl.
  13. 13. Add the olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  14. 14. Mix all ingredients well together.
  15. 15. Fold the pre-cooked chorizo slices into the mixture.
  16. 16. Place the mixture loosely and without pressing directly into the basket of the air fryer.
  17. 17. Cook the dish at 190 °C for 8 to 10 minutes.
  18. 18. Then stir everything carefully once.
  19. 19. Reduce the temperature to 180 °C.
  20. 20. Cook the dish for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  21. 21. The chicken should be fully cooked through and the vegetables soft but still slightly firm to the bite.
  22. 22. Stir the dish once or twice during cooking so that all ingredients cook evenly and develop roasted flavors.
  23. 23. Check the browning level towards the end of the cooking time.
  24. 24. Serve the Spanish skillet from the air fryer immediately.
