🍽️ Crispy Spanish Chicken Skillet from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 200 g chicken breast fillet(s)
- 80 g chorizo
- 1 red bell pepper(s)
- 0.5 yellow bell pepper(s)
- 1 medium-sized onion(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 0.5 tbsp olive oil
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika powder
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- 1. Tip: Serve this dish best with cooked rice as a side.
- 2. For hygiene reasons, use a separate cutting board for the chicken meat. Cut the vegetables first, then the chorizo, and finally the meat.
- 3. Wash the peppers, remove the core, and cut them into even strips.
- 4. Peel the onion and cut it into strips as well.
- 5. Chop the garlic only roughly so that it does not burn during cooking.
- 6. Cut the chicken meat into evenly sized cubes.
- 7. Slice the chorizo into thin rounds.
- 8. Prepare the cooked rice now if you plan to serve it as a side dish.
- 9. Preheat the air fryer to 190 °C.
- 10. Place the chorizo slices alone directly in the basket and cook them for 5 minutes until they are lightly browned and have released fat.
- 11. The released fat will give the vegetables and chicken a great aroma later.
- 12. Put the chicken, peppers, onion, and garlic into a large bowl.
- 13. Add the olive oil, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- 14. Mix all ingredients well together.
- 15. Fold the pre-cooked chorizo slices into the mixture.
- 16. Place the mixture loosely and without pressing directly into the basket of the air fryer.
- 17. Cook the dish at 190 °C for 8 to 10 minutes.
- 18. Then stir everything carefully once.
- 19. Reduce the temperature to 180 °C.
- 20. Cook the dish for another 8 to 10 minutes.
- 21. The chicken should be fully cooked through and the vegetables soft but still slightly firm to the bite.
- 22. Stir the dish once or twice during cooking so that all ingredients cook evenly and develop roasted flavors.
- 23. Check the browning level towards the end of the cooking time.
- 24. Serve the Spanish skillet from the air fryer immediately.
