🍽️ Crispy Chicken Nuggets from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 500 g chicken breast fillet(s)
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder, sweet
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder, smoked
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
- salt
- 5 tbsp flour
- 100 g panko
- 2 egg(s)
- some milk
- oil (for spraying)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized, walnut-sized cubes.
- 2. Lightly season the meat pieces with a little salt.
- 3. Place the flour into a shallow bowl.
- 4. Whisk the eggs in a second, separate bowl with a splash of milk.
- 5. Mix the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl with sweet paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and cayenne pepper.
- 6. Do not add more salt to the breading mixture, as the nuggets are usually served with spicy sauces.
- 7. Preheat the air fryer for about 5 minutes at 200 °C.
- 8. Coat the chicken pieces one by one first in the flour.
- 9. Then dip the floured pieces completely into the egg-milk mixture.
- 10. Finally, press the wet pieces firmly into the seasoned panko breadcrumbs until they are well covered all around.
- 11. Place the breaded nuggets in the fryer basket with some space between them.
- 12. Make sure the nuggets are arranged loosely so they become crispy instead of just baking.
- 13. Lightly spray the nuggets with a little oil.
- 14. Cook the chicken nuggets at 200 °C for around 10 minutes in the air fryer.
- 15. Check the browning level in between, as the time may vary depending on piece size and device.
- 16. Remove the nuggets as soon as they are golden brown and crispy.
