  1. 1. Remove the outer wilted leaves from the Brussels sprouts.
  2. 2. Trim off the small, hard stem ends at the base of the Brussels sprouts.
  3. 3. Make a small cross-shaped cut into the bottom of each Brussels sprout head.
  4. 4. Place the prepared Brussels sprouts into a large bowl.
  5. 5. Finely grate the zest of one organic lemon and add it to the bowl.
  6. 6. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and add it to the bowl as well.
  7. 7. Season the Brussels sprouts with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  8. 8. Add a splash of oil to the bowl.
  9. 9. Toss everything well until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated with the marinade.
  10. 10. Place the Brussels sprouts into the basket of the air fryer.
  11. 11. Set the air fryer to 170 °C and cook the Brussels sprouts for 20 minutes.
  12. 12. Halfway through the time (after 10 minutes), pull out the drawer and shake the Brussels sprouts vigorously.
  13. 13. Remove the crispy Brussels sprouts after the time is up and serve immediately.
