  1. 1. Put the almonds, sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon powder, salt, and water into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Stir the ingredients vigorously until every almond is evenly coated with the liquid.
  3. 3. Line the basket of the air fryer with a piece of baking paper.
  4. 4. Make sure the baking paper is not too large so that the hot air can circulate well.
  5. 5. Spread the almond mixture flat and evenly on the baking paper.
  6. 6. Avoid stacking the almonds on top of each other.
  7. 7. Set the air fryer to 170 °C.
  8. 8. Place the basket with the almonds into the appliance.
  9. 9. Set the cooking time to 10 minutes.
  10. 10. Check the almonds after about 5 minutes.
  11. 11. Remove the basket briefly.
  12. 12. Shake the basket or stir the almonds gently.
  13. 13. Put the basket back into the air fryer.
  14. 14. Let the almonds cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  15. 15. Watch the almonds closely, as sugar can burn quickly.
  16. 16. Remove the basket as soon as the almonds are golden brown.
  17. 17. Let the almonds cool down completely.
  18. 18. Gently separate the almonds from each other when they are hard and crispy.
