🍽️ Crispy Marzipan Apples from the Air Fryer with Creamy Vanilla Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized apples
- 80 g marzipan
- 4 tbsp raisins
- 4 tbsp almonds, chopped (or hazelnuts)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp vanilla paste
- 0.5 tsp cardamom powder
- 0.5 pkg vanilla pudding powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 liter whole milk
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apples thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Cut off the top lids of the apples about one finger's width wide.
- 3. Carefully hollow out the apples using a melon baller.
- 4. Make sure the bottom of the apples remains intact and is not cut through.
- 5. Crumble the marzipan into small pieces.
- 6. Add the marzipan along with the other filling ingredients to a bowl.
- 7. Mix the ingredients well together until a homogeneous mass forms.
- 8. Fill the marzipan mixture evenly into the hollowed-out apples.
- 9. Place the cut-off lids back onto the filled apples.
- 10. Place the apples on a piece of baking paper.
- 11. Place the baking paper with the apples into the basket of the air fryer.
- 12. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
- 13. Cook the apples for 10 to 13 minutes in the air fryer.
- 14. Check the cooking time by gently inserting a knife into the apples.
- 15. Remove the apples as soon as they can be easily pierced.
- 16. Put the pudding powder and sugar into a saucepan.
- 17. Stir the dry ingredients smooth with 3 to 4 tablespoons of milk.
- 18. Bring the remaining milk to a boil in a separate saucepan.
- 19. Whisk the milk-pudding mixture into the boiling milk using a whisk.
- 20. Let the sauce boil briefly one more time.
- 21. Remove the saucepan from the heat to finish the vanilla sauce.
