  1. 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water. Do not peel them.
  2. 2. Insert a wooden skewer lengthwise through the center of each potato.
  3. 3. Cut the potato in a spiral pattern using a sharp knife. Hold the knife at an angle and slowly rotate the potato around the skewer.
  4. 4. Gently pull the spiral slices apart to open them up. Be careful not to tear the potato.
  5. 5. Brush the potatoes all over, including between the slices, with olive oil.
  6. 6. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika powder, and grated Parmesan in a small bowl.
  7. 7. Generously sprinkle the spice mixture over the potatoes.
  8. 8. Trim the protruding ends of the wooden skewers if they do not fit into the air fryer basket.
  9. 9. Place the skewers in the basket of the air fryer.
  10. 10. Cook the tornado potatoes at 160 °C for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy. You do not need to preheat the air fryer.
