Ingredients
- 130 g butter or margarine
- 130 g sugar
- 2 egg(s)
- 300 g flour
- 1 tsp, level baking powder
- 4 tbsp apricot jam
- 200 g butter or margarine
- 200 g sugar
- 2 pkts. vanilla sugar
- 200 g hazelnuts, ground
- 200 g hazelnuts, chopped
- 4 tbsp water
- chocolate glaze (or coating chocolate)
Instructions
- 1. This recipe yields about 32 portions.
- 2. Prepare the shortcrust dough and roll it out on a greased baking sheet. Spread the dough evenly with apricot jam.
- 3. Heat butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until the sugar has completely dissolved. Stir the nuts and a little water into the warm butter-sugar mixture. Spread this filling evenly over the dough.
- 4. Bake the nut squares in the preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for about 25 minutes. Cut them while still warm first into rectangles and then diagonally into triangles. Dip the corners of the triangles into melted chocolate or chocolate glaze.
