  1. 1. Peel the onion and slice it into 3 millimeter thick slices.
  2. 2. Separate the slices into individual rings and place them in a bowl.
  3. 3. Add 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and mix everything well.
  4. 4. Let the onions rest in the marinade for 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove the onion rings from the bowl and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  6. 6. Place the dry rings back into the bowl.
  7. 7. Season with salt to taste and mix it in.
  8. 8. Add the oil and mix everything thoroughly until the rings are evenly coated.
  9. 9. Preheat the air fryer to 120 °C.
  10. 10. Distribute the onion rings evenly in the air fryer basket.
  11. 11. Cook the rings for approx. 30 minutes at 120 °C until they are golden brown and crispy.
  12. 12. Turn the onions every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
