🍽️ Crispy KFC-Style Chicken from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 10 chicken drumsticks (thighs and/or drumsticks) or chicken wings
- 300 g wheat flour
- 1 pinch(es) pepper, black
- 1 pinch(es) pepper, white
- 1 tsp, level basil (dried)
- 1 tsp, level oregano (dried)
- 1 tsp, level paprika powder, sweet
- 1 tsp, level ginger powder
- 1 tsp mustard flour
- 2 small spoons dry yeast
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 3 tsp salt
- oil, neutral
- water
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken pieces thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Pat the chicken completely dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Mix the spices, dried yeast, and oil in a large bowl.
- 4. Mix flour and water to form a very liquid batter.
- 5. Ensure the batter has a consistency similar to buttermilk.
- 6. Coat the chicken pieces in the liquid batter.
- 7. Take the wet pieces immediately and roll them in the spice mixture.
- 8. Dip the spiced pieces briefly back into the batter.
- 9. Place the chicken pieces on a wire rack without baking paper.
- 10. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
- 11. Cook the chicken pieces in the basket for 25 minutes.
- 12. Turn the pieces once after about 12 minutes.
- 13. Serve the chicken with Cole Slaw and potato wedges.
