Ingredients
- 10 large onion(s), red
- 200 ml white wine vinegar
- 200 ml water
- 200 g sugar
- 0.5 lime(s)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the red onions. Cut them in half and slice the halves into thin strips.
- 2. Pour vinegar and water into a pot and heat the mixture. Stir in the sugar and bring everything to a boil.
- 3. Slice half a lime into thin rounds.
- 4. Add the onion strips to the hot vinegar-water mixture. Add the lime slices and let the mixture come to a brief boil.
- 5. Remove the onions and limes from the liquid and place them in a jar. Pour the hot liquid over them and seal the jar tightly.
- 6. Let the onions cool down and store them in a cool place. They will keep for several weeks this way.
