🍽️ Crispy Maultaschen Casserole from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Maultaschen (from the refrigerated section)
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 small can tomatoes, chunky
- as needed herbs, Italian (frozen, fresh or dried)
- 100 g mozzarella (shredded)
- 1 tsp olive oil for frying (and a little for the dish)
- salt and pepper
- paprika powder
Instructions
- 1. Heat some olive oil in a pan.
- 2. Fry finely chopped onions and garlic in it until fragrant.
- 3. Deglaze the pan with the tomatoes.
- 4. Season the sauce with herbs, pepper, paprika powder, and salt to your taste.
- 5. Let the sauce simmer gently until it thickens slightly.
- 6. Cut the Maultaschen into narrow strips while the sauce simmers.
- 7. Lightly grease a baking dish that fits into your air fryer with olive oil.
- 8. Place the Maultaschen strips into the prepared dish.
- 9. Pour the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the Maultaschen.
- 10. Preheat the air fryer to 160 °C.
- 11. Place the dish in the air fryer and cook the casserole for a total of 15 minutes.
- 12. Open the air fryer after 5 minutes of cooking time.
- 13. Generously sprinkle the casserole with grated cheese.
- 14. Close the air fryer and continue cooking the casserole for the remaining 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
