  1. 1. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
  2. 2. Let the puff pastry thaw if it is frozen.
  3. 3. Cut the puff pastry into squares with a side length of about 15 cm.
  4. 4. Make a lengthwise cut into the sausages, but do not cut all the way through.
  5. 5. Insert a strip of sliced cheese into the cuts of the sausages.
  6. 6. Place a filled sausage in the center of a puff pastry square.
  7. 7. Cut narrow strips into the puff pastry on the left and right sides of the sausage.
  8. 8. Fold the pastry strips alternately over the sausages to create a braid pattern.
  9. 9. Whisk the egg yolk and brush the pastry surface with it.
  10. 10. Cook the sausages for 20 minutes at 180 °C in the air fryer.
  11. 11. Check the browning after 15 minutes and adjust the time if necessary.
