Ingredients
- 2 Bockwursts (well-seasoned with bite, e.g. "Red Sausage")
- 2 tbsp oil
- 300 g french fries (frozen)
- paprika powder, sweet
- salt and pepper
- 5 tbsp water
- 1 tsp curry paste
- 1 cup spice ketchup
Instructions
- 1. Make sure your air fryer has two separate rack levels.
- 2. Place the fries into the bottom level of the air fryer.
- 3. Season the fries with salt and add one tablespoon of oil.
- 4. If desired, season the fries further with some pepper and sweet paprika powder.
- 5. Set the air fryer to 200 °C and start the cooking time for 25 minutes.
- 6. Use the intermediate alarm function to add the sausages 8 minutes before the fries are done.
- 7. Score the sausages at several places to a depth of about 1 to 2 millimeters.
- 8. Make a cross-shaped cut at the end of the sausages so they do not burst uncontrollably during cooking.
- 9. Lightly brush the sausages with oil.
- 10. Place the sausages into the upper level of the air fryer.
- 11. Bring a small amount of water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- 12. Stir the curry paste into the boiling water until it has dissolved.
- 13. Add the ketchup to the curry-water mixture and stir it in well.
- 14. Let the sauce come to a brief boil and then turn off the heat.
- 15. Remove the cooked sausages and fries from the air fryer.
- 16. Place the sausages on a plate and add the fries next to them.
- 17. Pour the warm curry sauce evenly over the sausages.
- 18. Ideally use Red Sausage, which is popular in Southern Germany, or substitute with Bockwurst.
