Ingredients
- 3 chicken drumsticks
- 2 large carrot(s)
- 1 leek stalk(s)
- 1 piece knoll celery
- 1 bunch parsley
- to taste water
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 allspice berries
- 175 g soup noodles (shells, stars, letters etc.)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken drumsticks thoroughly. Peel the root vegetables (carrots, celery, and leek) and cut them into small pieces.
- 2. Fill a large pot with cold water and add the chicken drumsticks. Bring the water to a boil. The cooking time depends on the size of the drumsticks; for normal pieces, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes.
- 3. Remove the cooked drumsticks from the pot. Now add the chopped vegetables and noodles to the broth and bring everything to a boil again. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium. Add two allspice berries (these usually float on top and are easy to remove later).
- 4. Carefully separate the cooked meat from the bones and shred it into fine strands.
- 5. Add the shredded meat back into the soup after about 10 to 15 minutes. Let the soup boil vigorously once more. Season with salt, pepper, and turmeric to taste. If necessary, add a little more liquid or chicken broth. Remove the allspice berries.
- 6. Just before serving, stir in chopped parsley to your liking.
