  1. 1. Crumble the Oreo cookies finely. Use a food processor or crush them in a freezer bag with a rolling pin.
  2. 2. Set aside two tablespoons of the crumbs for decoration.
  3. 3. Mix the remaining crumbs with cream cheese until a homogeneous mass forms.
  4. 4. Form small balls with a diameter of about three centimeters from the mixture.
  5. 5. Place the balls on a tray lined with baking paper.
  6. 6. Place the tray in the freezer for twenty minutes.
  7. 7. Melt two-thirds of the chocolate coating over a hot water bath.
  8. 8. Remove the bowl from the pot and stir in the remaining third of the chocolate until it is melted.
  9. 9. Ensure the bowl does not touch the hot pot bottom, but is heated only by the steam.
  10. 10. Take the frozen Oreo balls out of the freezer.
  11. 11. Insert a toothpick into each ball to hold it.
  12. 12. Dip each ball completely into the liquid chocolate.
  13. 13. Let the excess chocolate drip off briefly.
  14. 14. Place the coated truffles back on the baking paper-lined tray.
  15. 15. Sprinkle the reserved Oreo crumbs immediately over the wet chocolate.
  16. 16. Wait until the chocolate is set and carefully remove the toothpicks.
  17. 17. Fill the small hole left by the toothpick with some remaining crumbs.
