  1. 1. Put all ingredients for the chocolate mug cake into a large, heatproof mug.
  2. 2. Stir the ingredients vigorously until a smooth batter has formed.
  3. 3. Decide whether you want to bake the batter in one large mug or two small mugs.
  4. 4. Preheat the air fryer to 170 °C.
  5. 5. Place the mug(s) in the air fryer and bake the cake for 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. 6. Check after 10 minutes if the cake is done, and extend the time if necessary.
  7. 7. Carefully remove the mug(s) from the air fryer using oven mitts, as they are very hot.
  8. 8. Serve the chocolate mug cake immediately while warm.
  9. 9. Flavor the batter to your liking with spices such as cardamom, ground cloves, or gingerbread spice.
  10. 10. You can also jazz up the cake with nuts or fruit pieces.
