🍽️ Crispy Currywurst with Caramelized Sauce

Ingredients
- 3 Rostbratwursts ((Thuringian), sliced)
- 1 tbsp Sunflower oil (or Rapeseed oil)
- 2 tbsp Curry powder
- 100 ml Tomato(es) (peeled, with juice, diced)
- 50 g Curry ketchup
- 2 tbsp Paprika powder, rose-hot
- 1 Sprig Oregano (chopped)
- Thyme (chopped)
- 1 tbsp Curry powder
- 100 ml Broth
- 200 ml Coca-Cola
- butter
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the air fryer to 160 °C and wait for 3 minutes.
- 2. Place the sausage slices in the wire basket of the fryer.
- 3. Drizzle the sausage lightly with oil.
- 4. Fry the sausage slices for 5 to 6 minutes at 160 °C.
- 5. Shake the wire basket once to ensure even frying.
- 6. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of curry powder over the sausage.
- 7. Continue frying the seasoned sausage for another 5 minutes at 160 °C.
- 8. Place the sausage slices together with the tomatoes, curry ketchup, 1 tablespoon of paprika powder, and the herbs into the baking insert.
- 9. Mix all ingredients well in the insert.
- 10. Cook the mixture for another 5 to 7 minutes at 160 °C.
- 11. Dice the shallots finely.
- 12. Sauté the shallots in butter in a small pot.
- 13. Add 1 tablespoon of curry powder and 1 tablespoon of paprika powder to the onion mixture.
- 14. Deglaze the mixture with Coca-Cola.
- 15. Let the liquid reduce until it has halved.
- 16. Top up the sauce with the broth.
- 17. Let the sauce reduce again until it has halved.
- 18. Add the peeled tomatoes to the sauce.
- 19. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
- 20. Optionally dust the finished currywurst with curry powder.
- 21. Serve the sausage with the warm sauce.
