Ingredients
- 200 g almond(s) (unpeeled)
- 55 g dark chocolate
- 1.5 tsp gingerbread spice
- 7 tbsp powdered sugar (sifted)
Instructions
- 1. Lightly toast the almonds first. While not strictly necessary, this step boosts the flavor and gives them a nice crunch.
- 2. Spread the almonds on a baking sheet and roast them at 160 degrees Celsius (conventional heat) for 10 minutes. Watch them closely, as they can burn quickly.
- 3. Immediately transfer the almonds from the hot tray to a plate or bowl to cool down. Wait until they are only lukewarm.
- 4. Melt the chocolate over a bowl of warm water. Stir in the gingerbread spice mix (a blend of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and other spices). Add the almonds and toss them carefully until they are fully coated in chocolate.
- 5. Put the powdered sugar into a sealable box or bag. Add the chocolate-coated almonds, close the container, and shake everything vigorously.
- 6. The almonds are now coated in sugar and have separated from each other. Place them on baking paper to let the chocolate harden. Once set, you can enjoy them or give them as gifts.
