🍽️ Air Fryer Donuts Without Frying

Ingredients
- 0.25 cup wheat flour
- 0.5 cup water
- 1.25 cup wheat flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1.5 tbsp butter (melted)
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.25 cup oat milk (oat drink) (or almond milk)
- 1 medium-sized egg
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 0.25 cup wheat flour (water mixture)
- sugar

- butter (melted)
Instructions
- 1. Mix wheat flour and water in a small pot.
- 2. Heat the mixture slowly while stirring until it thickens.
- 3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir briefly.
- 4. Let the mixture cool down.
- 5. Add flour, sugar, butter, salt, oat or almond milk, egg, dry yeast, and the cooled flour mixture to a food processor.
- 6. Knead the dough for 10 minutes in the machine.
- 7. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place (ideally 50 °C in the oven) for about 45 minutes.
- 8. Knead the dough briefly by hand after the first rise.
- 9. Let the dough rise again for 30 to 45 minutes.
- 10. Dust some flour on the work surface and roll out the dough to a thickness of about one finger.
- 11. Cut donut shapes out of the dough.
- 12. Use a large glass for the outer ring and a small lid for the center hole.
- 13. Place the donuts on a piece of baking paper cut to fit the air fryer wire rack insert.
- 14. Cover the donuts and let them rise for another 1 hour.
- 15. Check if the donuts have formed a firm outer layer that no longer sticks.
- 16. Place the donuts in the air fryer with the baking paper facing up.
- 17. Set the air fryer for 1 minute to secure the paper.
- 18. Carefully remove the baking paper.
- 19. Cook the donuts at 200 °C for 3 to 4 minutes in the air fryer until golden brown.
- 20. Decorate the finished donuts with icing.
- 21. Or brush them with melted butter and roll them in a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
