Ingredients
- 200 g nougat
- 200 g marzipan base
- 2 tbsp rose water (or kirsch)
- 25 g pistachios (very finely chopped)
- 125 g powdered sugar
- 100 g chocolate coating
Instructions
- 1. This recipe yields about 30 Mozart balls.
- 2. Cut the nougat mixture into small cubes with a diameter of about 1 cm.
- 3. Shape the nougat cubes into balls.
- 4. Place the nougat balls in the refrigerator to cool.
- 5. Process the marzipan base with the rose water, two-thirds of the chopped pistachios, and the powdered sugar into a smooth mass.
- 6. Work the marzipan mass best by hand.
- 7. Shape the marzipan mass into a roll with a diameter of 3 cm.
- 8. Cut the marzipan roll into pieces.
- 9. Ensure that you have a matching marzipan piece for each nougat ball.
- 10. Flatten the marzipan pieces.
- 11. Place one nougat ball in each flat marzipan piece.
- 12. Wrap the nougat ball completely with the marzipan.
- 13. Quickly shape both into a ball.
- 14. Melt the coating (chocolate covering).
- 15. Dip the balls with a fork into the melted coating.
- 16. Let the coated balls drip briefly.
- 17. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 18. Sprinkle the chocolates with pistachios.
- 19. Let the chocolates dry.
- 20. Store the Mozart balls cool and in an airtight package.
- 21. The Mozart balls will keep for several weeks.
