Ingredients
- 1 bottle tomato ketchup (simple, approx. 500 ml)
- 2 small onion(s)
- 3 tbsp balsamic (dark)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- a little chili powder (or cayenne pepper)
- 1 drop soy sauce
- olive oil
- tomato paste
- water
Instructions
- 1. Dice the onions into small cubes.
- 2. Heat olive oil in a pan.
- 3. Sauté the onions in the oil until they are soft and translucent.
- 4. Stir tomato paste into the pan.
- 5. Deglaze the pan with a splash of water.
- 6. Add ketchup, balsamic vinegar, and honey to the mixture.
- 7. Let the sauce simmer gently over low heat.
- 8. Ensure the vinegar does not evaporate too quickly.
- 9. Add soy sauce and the remaining spices.
- 10. Stir all ingredients well.
- 11. Add more water if necessary to reach the desired consistency.
- 12. Taste the sauce.
- 13. Decide if you want to add more curry powder or chili.
