  1. 1. Knead flour, sugar, butter cut into small cubes, and the nuts into a smooth dough. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  2. 2. Shape the dough into a log. Cut off pieces and shape them into small crescents. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. 3. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius top and bottom heat on the lower rack for about 15 minutes until golden yellow.
  4. 4. Mix sugar and vanilla sugar. Roll the still warm cookies in the mixture until completely covered, and let them cool.
  5. 5. This recipe comes from my grandmother, who used to own a bakery. They are the best vanilla crescent cookies in the world!
