Ingredients
- 450 g spelt flour (Type 630)
- 220 g water (lukewarm)
- 60 g oil
- 1 tsp, heaping baking powder
- 1 tsp, heaping salt
Instructions
- 1. Weigh all the ingredients.
- 2. Put the ingredients into a large bowl.
- 3. Knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
- 4. Keep kneading until the dough releases from the sides of the bowl.
- 5. Shape the dough into a firm ball.
- 6. Press the ball into a thick roll.
- 7. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
- 8. Dust your work surface with flour.
- 9. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces.
- 10. Roll each piece very thin and round.
- 11. Heat a pan on the stovetop.
- 12. Place one tortilla into the hot pan.
- 13. Fry the first side for about 30 seconds.
- 14. Flip the tortilla.
- 15. Fry the second side for another 30 seconds.
- 16. Remove the finished tortilla from the pan.
- 17. Repeat the process with the remaining dough circles.
