🍽️ Homemade Garlic Ring Bread

Ingredients
- 370 g flour
- 250 ml water, lukewarm ()
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- fat for the pan
- 4 garlic cloves
- 5 parsley sprigs
- 4 thyme sprigs
- 90 g cheese (spicy, e.g. Alpine cheese)
- 50 ml olive oil
- salt
Instructions
- 1. Mix the lukewarm water with the sugar, the dry yeast, and two tablespoons of flour.
- 2. Let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.
- 3. Stir in the remaining flour with the salt.
- 4. Add the yeast-sugar mixture and one tablespoon of oil.
- 5. Knead everything for 10 minutes until you have a smooth dough.
- 6. Lightly grease a bowl.
- 7. Place the dough inside and cover it.
- 8. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 45 to 60 minutes until it has doubled in size.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 10. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them finely.
- 11. Wash the parsley and pat it dry.
- 12. Cut off the tough stems and chop the leaves finely.
- 13. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stems.
- 14. Grate the cheese.
- 15. Mix all these ingredients with 50 milliliters of olive oil.
- 16. Season the mixture with salt.
- 17. Grease a springform pan.
- 18. Line the bottom with baking paper.
- 19. Knead the dough briefly.
- 20. Shape it into a roll.
- 21. Cut the roll into slices about six centimeters thick.
- 22. Gently mix the slices with the cheese and garlic mixture.
- 23. Arrange them fanned out in a ring shape in the baking pan.
- 24. Bake the bread for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
