Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 2.5 tsp, leveled baking powder
- 150 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 2 egg(s)
- 200 g butter, soft
- fats for the pan
- 1 kg apples (e.g. Holsteiner Cox)
- 1 lemon(s), juice from it
- 50 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- 1. Mix flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, and butter, then use a mixer to break everything down into small crumbs.
- 2. Grease a 26-centimeter springform pan. Spread two-thirds of the crumble mixture onto the bottom and press it down firmly to create a border about 3 centimeters high.
- 3. Peel the apples and cut them into wedges. Toss the apple wedges with lemon juice, sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon. Place the fruit on the crumble base and sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top.
- 4. Place the pan on a rack in the preheated oven. Bake the cake at 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for 50 minutes.
