🍽️ Halloumi Burgers with Rosemary Onions

Ingredients
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 1 small onion, red
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 pack halloumi
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 jar bell pepper (roasted)
- 1 handful arugula
- 2 burger buns
- a little herb butter
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the rosemary sprigs under running water.
- 2. Shake off the excess water from the rosemary.
- 3. Roughly chop the rosemary needles with a knife.
- 4. Peel the outer skin off the red onions.
- 5. Cut the onions into very thin wedges.
- 6. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 7. Break the garlic into small pieces.
- 8. Place the halloumi cheese into a large bowl.
- 9. Add the chopped herbs to the cheese.
- 10. Add the small garlic pieces.
- 11. Pour the olive oil over the ingredients.
- 12. Add the onion wedges to the bowl.
- 13. Cover the bowl with a cloth.
- 14. Let the mixture marinate for about two hours.
- 15. Preferably refrigerate the mixture overnight.
- 16. Pat the roasted pepper pieces dry with a kitchen towel.
- 17. Clean the arugula of any wilted leaves.
- 18. Wash the arugula under cold water.
- 19. Shake the water off the arugula.
- 20. Cut the buns horizontally in the middle.
- 21. Take the herb butter.
- 22. Spread the butter onto the cut sides of the buns.
- 23. Place a non-stick pan on the stove.
- 24. Heat the pan to medium-high heat.
- 25. Take the halloumi out of the marinade.
- 26. Place the cheese into the hot pan.
- 27. Fry the cheese on the first side over high heat.
- 28. Fry the cheese on the second side over high heat.
- 29. Watch for a cooking time of two to three minutes per side.
- 30. Add the marinade with the onions and herbs to the pan.
- 31. Fry the onions and herbs briefly.
- 32. Remove the halloumi from the pan.
- 33. Place the roasted pepper pieces on the bottom bun half.
- 34. Place the fried halloumi on top of the peppers.
- 35. Distribute the arugula over the cheese.
- 36. Add the fried onion wedges on top.
- 37. Place the top bun half on as a lid.
- 38. Serve the burgers with French fries.
