  4. 4. Shock the broccoli immediately in cold water.
  5. 5. If using frozen broccoli, pour boiling water over it.
  6. 6. Let the frozen broccoli sit for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Shock the frozen broccoli in cold water as well.
  8. 8. Cut the prepared broccoli into small florets.
  9. 9. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes.
  10. 10. Dice the cucumber into small cubes.
  11. 11. Dice the ham into small cubes.
  12. 12. Slice the spring onion into thin rings.
  13. 13. Whisk Miracle Whip, crème fraîche, and balsamic vinegar together.
  14. 14. Stir the dressing until smooth.
  15. 15. Season the dressing with salt to taste.
  16. 16. Season the dressing with pepper to taste.
  17. 17. Season the dressing with herbs to taste.
  18. 18. Taste the dressing once.
  19. 19. If the dressing tastes too sour, stir in a little sweetener.
  20. 20. Taste the dressing again after sweetening.
  21. 21. Add the tomatoes to the dressing.
  22. 22. Add the cucumber to the dressing.
  23. 23. Add the ham to the dressing.
  24. 24. Add the spring onion to the dressing.
  25. 25. Add the broccoli to the dressing.
  26. 26. Gently fold all ingredients together.
  27. 27. Place the salad in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
