🍽️ Shish Kebab Skewers with Spicy Homemade Sauce

Ingredients
- 500 g pork neck
- 300 g smoked bacon (in one piece)
- 3 bell pepper(s), colorful
- 3 onion(s)
- 2 packets tomatoes, pureed
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tsp cumin
- salt and pepper
- curry powder
- garlic granules
- paprika powder, sweet
- 3 tbsp oil
- 150 ml meat broth
Instructions
- 1. Cut the pork, ham, onions, and bell peppers into small, uniform cubes.
- 2. Thread the meat and vegetable cubes onto the skewers in an alternating pattern.
- 3. Press the ingredients firmly together on the skewers so they do not slip off.
- 4. Finish each skewer with a piece of meat or ham to better secure the other ingredients.
- 5. Heat oil in a large pan.
- 6. Sear the skewers in the pan on all sides until they are browned.
- 7. Remove the seared skewers from the pan and set them aside.
- 8. Dice the remaining onions, ham, and peppers into even smaller pieces.
- 9. Sauté these smaller pieces briefly in the same pan.
- 10. Let the vegetable and meat mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
- 11. Deglaze the pan with the meat broth.
- 12. Transfer the liquid and contents into a larger pot.
- 13. Stir the pureed tomatoes into the sauce.
- 14. Season the sauce generously with curry powder.
- 15. Adjust the flavor with honey and the remaining spices to your personal taste.
- 16. Let the sauce reduce for about 10 minutes.
- 17. Place the prepared shish kebab skewers into the sauce.
- 18. Let everything simmer on the lowest heat setting for 90 minutes.
- 19. Serve the finished shish kebab with french fries or rice.
