  5. 5. Let the sauce simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Use a spoon to make four small indentations in the sauce.
  7. 7. Crack one egg into each indentation.
  8. 8. Place the lid on the pan.
  9. 9. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain slightly runny.
  10. 10. Sprinkle fresh herbs over the top to taste.
  11. 11. Serve the Shakshuka hot with white bread or pita bread.
