🍝 Baked Rigatoni with Meat Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 small onion(s) (finely diced)
- 4 garlic clove(s) (finely diced)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 250 g beef mince
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 250 g cream
- 150 g cooked ham (diced)
- 200 g mushrooms (sliced)
- 360 g rigatoni
- 250 g mozzarella (diced)
- 1.5 tsp, heaped herbs, Italian
- 1 tsp, level cayenne pepper
- 1.5 tsp, level salt
- pepper (freshly ground)
Instructions
- 1. Finely dice the onions and garlic.
- 2. Clean the mushrooms and slice them thinly.
- 3. Heat the olive oil in a pot.
- 4. Sauté the onions and garlic briefly in the hot oil.
- 5. Add the minced meat.
- 6. Fry the meat until it crumbles into small pieces.
- 7. Cook the mushrooms along with the meat.
- 8. Deglaze everything with the puréed tomatoes.
- 9. Stir the cream into the mixture.
- 10. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 11. Season the sauce to your taste.
- 12. Let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes over low heat.
- 13. Stir the sauce occasionally while it cooks.
- 14. Add the ham to the sauce.
- 15. Taste the sauce again and adjust the seasoning.
- 16. Cook the rigatoni in salted water until very al dente (about 5 minutes).
- 17. Drain the pasta.
- 18. Place the pasta in a large baking dish.
- 19. Pour the sauce over the pasta.
- 20. Scatter the diced mozzarella on top.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 22. Place the baking dish on the middle rack.
- 23. Bake the baking dish for about 30 minutes.
- 24. At the end, turn on the oven grill, if available.
- 25. Brown the cheese.
