Ingredients
- 125 g butter (soft)
- 200 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 3 egg(s)
- 300 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 125 ml milk
- 100 g chocolate (chocolate drops)
- 125 g marzipan raw mass
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 100 g coconut flakes
- 1 bag food coloring (powder, blue)
- 6 cookie(s) (chocolate cookies)
Instructions
- 1. Mix the marzipan paste with 75 grams of powdered sugar until a smooth dough forms.
- 2. Shape 24 small balls from the dough.
- 3. Press one chocolate drop into each marzipan ball to form the pupils of the eyes.
- 4. Put the coconut flakes into a bowl.
- 5. Dissolve about half of the food coloring in a little water.
- 6. Wear kitchen gloves and mix the coconut flakes with the colored liquid.
- 7. Spread the colored coconut flakes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 8. Let the coconut flakes dry.
- 9. Put the dried coconut flakes back into a bowl later.
- 10. Prepare the eyes and the coconut flakes preferably the day before, so they have enough time to dry.
- 11. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 12. Line the muffin tins with paper baking cups.
- 13. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
- 14. Add the eggs one by one and mix them in.
- 15. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- 16. Add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture.
- 17. Pour in the milk.
- 18. Stir everything into a smooth batter.
- 19. Finally, mix in the remaining chocolate drops well.
- 20. Divide the batter among 12 muffin cups.
- 21. Bake the muffins on the middle rack for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 22. Let the muffins cool briefly in the tin after baking.
- 23. Remove the muffins from the tin.
- 24. Let them cool completely on a rack for about 30 minutes.
- 25. Mix the remaining powdered sugar with the remaining blue food coloring (dissolved in a little water) to make a thick glaze.
- 26. Brush the muffin tops with the glaze.
- 27. Save some glaze for the eyes.
- 28. Dip the muffins upside down into the blue coconut flakes.
- 29. Cut a small oval piece out of each muffin.
- 30. Insert half a cookie into the indentation to form a mouth.
- 31. Glue everything in place with a little glaze if necessary.
- 32. Glue the marzipan eyes on as well with glaze.
- 33. Let everything dry for about 3 hours.
