- 1 packet vanilla sugar

- 1.5 kg apples

Instructions
- 1. Prepare a full-sized baking sheet.
- 2. Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy. Stir in the eggs one by one. Finally, add a mixture of flour and baking powder.
- 3. Spread the dough on a greased baking sheet. Peel the apples, cut them into quarters, and remove the core. Make three or four cuts into each apple quarter, but do not cut all the way through. Place the apple pieces closely together on the dough.
- 4. Make the crumble topping from butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and flour. Knead everything well and pinch the mixture into coarse crumbs. Distribute the crumbs evenly over the apples.
- 5. Bake the apple cake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat on the second rack from the bottom for about 45 minutes.
