  1. 1. Beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, flavor extracts, and a pinch of salt. Continue stirring until the mixture is firm and smooth. Add the eggs one by one and mix well.
  2. 2. Mix the flour with the baking powder. Stir in the flour mixture and the milk alternately, spoonful by spoonful. Use only enough milk so that the batter falls thickly and heavily from the spoon. Fill two-thirds of the batter into a prepared marble cake pan.
  3. 3. Mix the cocoa with the sugar, stir in the milk, and add this mixture to the remaining batter. Spread the dark batter over the light batter in the pan. Use a fork to swirl through the layers of batter to create the marble effect.
  4. 4. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes in the preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat. If the top becomes too dark, cover the cake with a piece of aluminum foil after half the baking time.
  5. 5. Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar.
